Notes from the Deckle Edge
Waiting for news about my friend who is having surgery at Mayo today. Rather hard to concentrate. But for those of you who keep up with my blog...I am working on a very intricate piece right now. It has much more detail than usual. I'm probably 75% through with it. I received a suggestion that I do a night scene. I knew I would enjoy the aspect of bouncing light, so I went for it. Very happy with the results, although I wish I had done a larger piece. Perhaps I will try another, I get bored with a subject easily.
I did enjoy the workshop with Birgit O'Connor in Little Rock. The group was quite large, but we got a lot accomplished. Got to see an old acquaintance Bob Snider (whose work I truly admire) while I was at the MSW meeting. Bob and I worked at T.J. Raney and Sons many, many years ago. He showed me his latest piece on his i-phone. Beautiful. You should visit his website and take a look. I don't even have room to work on a piece of paper that size.
Speaking of paper, think I will try aquaboard for a change. Perhaps another night scene but on a different surface will spike my interest in redoing this piece. Just brainstorming.
As always, thanks for stopping by.
