Today was beautiful except for a few clouds so I went out searching inspiration. Spelunking...or close to it. On the hike back to the car, I thought I heard another waterfall. I took a few steps in that direction when I realized it wasn't a waterfall, it was rain! A deluge. I was soaked to the skin. I couldn't have been wetter had I stepped fully clothed into my shower, with my camera, and stood there for ten minutes. Unbelievable. I'll bet not one drop fell anywhere else in the county. I put my camera under my shirt, but it did little good. Back to my brushes.

This painting has been signed, but is still in final review stage. Sometimes that consists of a few weeks of adding a little value here, taking away there. I anticipate starting a new piece tomorrow. Back to my brushes.
"Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." - Anthony J. D'Angelo There are times when you must put down your brushes. My youngest had four wisdom teeth removed and nine days later developed an infection . A painful visit to the surgeon this morning while having the area drained. This kid is a real trooper. Delivered painting on Saturday. Art-wise I was at a total loss when I went to get my painting to work on, and after ten hours - TEN HOURS - it was still wet. You think it is a little humid here? Back to my brushes.
"What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive." - Arnold Palmer Painted twelve hours today. Coming along nicely, another twelve hours...okay twenty and it will be done. Back to my brushes.
"You will become as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration." - James Allen A few weeks ago I tried to enter the Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennial in China. Epic fail. I hope others had better luck than I. Try as I might, no e-mails would go through. No entry, no questions, no nothing. Very frustrating - I finally gave up trying. Today I am drawing as it was raining all morning and the light is not worthy of paint. Which reminds me of a gem of a line from Jimmy Stewart upon running into an old lightbulb hanging from the ceiling which goes " No, but a bulb that weak you can't even call it a light. It's a dark." If I ever get another tattoo, that is what it will read. Back to my brushes.
"Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal." - Albert Camus Back home. Delivered painting for MSW exhibit in LR and stayed for the presentation by Jean Gill. Saw friends and family which was great. Back to my brushes.
"The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one." - Elbert Hubbard Painted eighteen hours yesterday. I think I have a handle on why artists drink. Back to my brushes.
"The artist must bow to the monster of his own imagination." - Richard Wright Got up early today and painted all morning. Picked up two pieces from the framer today and they look great! Its been a good day but it is really hot - almost 100 degrees. Good day to stay inside and work. Back to my brushes.
"We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming - well, that's like saying you can never change your fate." - Amy Tan Painted all afternoon and evening. Was it successful? I'll know better tomorrow. Back to my brushes.
"It's up to you how far you let yourself fall and how long it takes you to get back up and stand on your own two feet." - Jeffrey Mitchell Interesting spike in my stats yesterday. I am still waxing these little pieces for a fundraiser. Seven coats so far. Takes about half an hour each to buff by hand each morning. It was a learning experience so a win/win situation. Working on some stills this afternoon. Should receive my shipping materials Thursday to send this piece to Pennsylvania. Back to my brushes.
