I received my Sylvan Grouse Guild medal and certificate from the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society in the mail today! Oh how I wish I could have been there in person to receive it. It didn't lessen the moment though when I shared it with my family here at home. The medal is quite lovely and surprisingly hefty. I am grateful to the PWS for giving me the opportunity to achieve Sylvan Grouse Guild status, and honored to have the distinction of using the PWS-sgg signature. Back to my brushes. "Only the poet can look beyond the detail and see the whole picture." - Helen Hayes I am pleased to share that I qualified for the Sylvan Grouse Guild medal at the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society's 37th Annual International Exhibition! Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend, but I look forward to receiving the certificate and the medal in the mail. It will certainly have a place on the mantel. I'll post a photo when I receive it. Thanks again to the juror of selection Paul Jackson, and the juror of awards, James McFarlane, President Emeritus of the American Watercolor Society, for awarding my painting "A Measured Response" an Honorable Mention.
