I watched a documentary last night on Marcel Duchamp. There are some aspects of his work that I find quite beautiful. Diagrams hold a particular interest for me and apparently for Duchamp as well. I recall copying diagrams and formulas out of my uncle's chemistry books, they had a wonderful balance to them . Completely bored my cousins, but I thought they were beautiful. Duchamp definitely had a way with motion. The documentary itself I couldn't recommend. It was rather dull. The worst part was that the narrator was always one painting off - very annoying. Not a good day for painting: cold, humid, and gray. Back to my brushes tomorrow.
