I am pleased to share that my entry was accepted into Watercolor U.S.A. 2014 Exhibition which will be held June 6 - August 3, 2014 at the Springfield Art Museum, 111 East Brookside Drive, Springfield, Missouri. Spent the day with Cheryl, a great friend. If you are ever in town, try the Press Room for lunch. Very enjoyable, good service, good food. Back to my brushes.

Throwback Thursday! This is a 1" (yes, one inch) watercolor painting of the 1899 Rock Island Railroad Bridge across the Arkansas River, originally leading to Choctaw Station. I did these tiny paintings while it was under renovation. It is now known as the Clinton Park Bridge. I still have some of these paintings of different parts of the bridge (on hot press paper) and place them on cards to friends. Back to my brushes. "Perhaps no place in any community is so totally democratic as the town library. The only entrance requirement is interest." - Lady Bird Johnson So today I thought you might be interested to see what was inside the gift. Wow! I can hardly wait to try these out! The light is awful today and we are expecting storms (rarely a good thing). Back to my brushes. "Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?" - L. M. Montgomery The opening reception of the American Watercolor Society's 147th International Exhibit is this evening and I wish I could be in attendance. But alas, I must raise my glass and send a salute from home. I received this wonderful congratulatory gift from Joe Miller and Cheap Joe's Art yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to trying out all the products inside. Thanks Joe! Back to my brushes. "Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony." - Mahatma Gandhi |
