Notes from the Deckle Edge
Painted all day yesterday until the light faded. Looking forward to continuing this painting of a wave. No, it is not a traditional wave. It has a lyrical quality I'm quite enjoying. Back to my brushes.
"Only one man in a thousand is a leader of men -- the other 999 follow women." - Groucho Marx
I did draw yesterday. Also got some guidelines on one piece just before losing all the light. Watched a few interesting documentaries last weekend. One was about Charles and Ray Eames, another about the Vogels, and the last one was about origami art. As amazing as the origami was, I found it was the diagrams that really peaked my interest. I keep two pieces of origami on my mantlepiece. Light is fantastic today and I plan to be painting. Back to my brushes.
"In order to have a real relationship with our creativity, we must take the time and care to cultivate it." - Julia Cameron
I have a whole day to paint, so of course the light is simply awful. I will draw this morning and hope that the weather clears by this afternoon. Back to my...pencils.

I received my return postcard yesterday! So, I know my painting has been unpacked and since I have not heard any different, know that it arrived in good condition. What can I say - you worry. The postcard is a nice memento of the occasion and it was fun to make. My parents are driving in today so I am looking forward to a great day with family. Back to my brushes - tomorrow.

Goodness that was quite a spike in my stats yesterday. If you are looking for my AWS 2013 entry - sorry, haven't posted it yet. If you are in Kerrville, enjoy the wine tasting and AWS exhibition (wish I was there).
Today I have had the joy of painting all day, beautiful light. The only downside was the noise from the roofers next door. I just turned up the music on my headphones and carried on. A special shout-out to my friends who sent congratulations on Facebook. I very much appreciate your kindness and encouragement. Look forward to seeing you in March. Okay, break is over. Back to my brushes.
