Notes from the Deckle Edge
I have been out taking photos, inspiration for painting this winter. I went to Crystal Bridges, my muse for some time now. Getting closer to the opening, but I found it quite sad. The beehive of activity is mostly on the inside and it is, in comparison to earlier, quiet. The things I found interesting are covered up and hidden. The different crews are gone, and now it is just people eating lunch where once men scrambled to hold onto the huge concrete buckets. The architects vision has come to fruition, but in doing so, the energy is gone and the shell is in place. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the opening as much as the rest of the community, but...it's like trying to dance at a library.
It's too quiet.
